How to Fix Error 27 on Canon Pixma MP145
Just this morning while I was about to print some documents, I encounter a E27 error on my Canon Pixma MP145 all-in-one printer. This type of error occurs when your waste ink absorber is full. The first thing I did was I clean the holder and the cartridge itself, remove excess inks, spills and some dirts but still no luck. The last solution that I did was I reset the waste ink counter which is not easy and requires lots of trials and tons of patience because it took me I think 10 times before my printer finally resets.
1. Turn off your printer then press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2. When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button twice while pressing and holding the Power button.
3. When you release the Power button and the Stop/ Reset button, your printer will move into a service mode.
4. When the on/off lights is in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times. You will then notice thatĀ each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green.
5. Turn off your printer.
6. Turn on your printer.
7. If unsuccessful go back to first step and try again
.
8. If still unsuccessful don’t cry yet just repeat the above procedures until you get your desired result.

im getting an error of 5100 on my mp145.it prints halfway and gives the error 5100. is it the same as error 27? btw im on CIS.
thanks very much for the reply sir. i finally have it working. i checked the inside and i found a small piece of paper stocked in the roller. the plastic strip is ok but the slider is already thick with black ink so i just cleaned it with cotton buds and a little alcohol. it now prints fast on the first page but takes a long time to print the proceeding page with windows saying “waiting for the ink to dry”. is there a way to fix this?

4. press reset button 2x then release power button
5. wait for printer to power up
6. on powering up you should see 0 on the led screen (if not, RESTART!)

i got a problem with my mp145 printer.it show’s error E4.plz help me
A E4 error usually means that your printer didn’t detect your cartridge. To fix the error, try to press and hold the Black & Color Button for about 5 to 10 seconds.
wow thanks for sharing ideas, i wish more people like you will share their knowledge for others.
but i got an e14 error message with my printer mp145

Have you checked if the cartridges are in the correct carriages? if yes, try pulling it out then insert it back in. try also cleaning the cartridge and also it’s carriage.
OMG it works!!! after the second detailed explaination, i got it all fixed up.. thanks!!!!!

What’s the exact error you are getting? to be honest i’m not sure if this procedure will work on MP198, haven’t tried troubleshooting MP198. Just give me the error you are receiving and I will help you in any way I can
Thanks, I was just about to replace our Pixma because we kept encountering this error. What a crazy series of steps to get that fixed. Who would ever figure that out without the net.

Hey man, I’m also having a problem with my MP145. It shows the E3 error code but I’m pretty sure there were no papers jammed. I can’t print and scan. I tried doing the steps but I still can’t access the maintenance mode. Instead, the “Alarm” keeps flashing. Please help.
A lot of people are really having problem doing the reset procedure but keep trying, even I sometimes need to do it several times.
@slavezero
same error code sir (E27), i’ve only reached the service mode part but no response in other command (no alternate green/orange light)…
just repeat the procedure until you successfully reset your printer
Great post! These tips will be very helpful for anyone who is facing this types of problems.
thank you so much for saying that we must try several times before it will works….. now it works again…. i’m about to bring it to our tech and will pay P500.00. Now my money will be saved………

this instructions very help me very much
sir im sorry but i cant really understand ur instruction…
im using canon pixma mp145, external ink, and an error 22 has occur…
i dont know what to do now…
e22 is a carriage error. it can be easily fix by resetting your mp145 printer.
sir,i’m using printer MP145..and the problem is E5..what should i do?
follow the same procedure
Your welcome
I love sharing my tech experiences, for me experience is the best teacher.
This procedure also works on MP150 and MP160 Canon model printers.
No they are different. resetting will not solved this type of error. this 5100 is a carriage error. Try checking the timing strip of your printer, look for any contamination (it is a plastic strip about 1/4″ wide), if the unit is not homing check for any obstruction. Try also to lubricate the sliders with some white grease so the mechanism can slide more freely,
are you using a compatible ink on your printer? did you buy your ink on CDR king? cdrking inks usually gives problems on your printer. I don’t recommended purchasing inks from them. their inks are thin.
try also to do a maintenance job on your printer and check if it solve the issue.
Just update me on this topic if it doesn’t solve anything
Your welcome
You may also want to change your cartridge. cartridges do not usually last long, especially the tri-color ones. they normally last only up to 4 to 6 months before they start giving you problems such as low quality prints, broken lines, ink spills etc.
Repeatedly follow my instructions again until it finally resets. in my case I think I tried it 10 times before it finally resets… you might want to do it more than that
update me if nothings happen. I’ll see what I can do.
