How to Easily Clean IE7 Browsing History
A friend of mine who is also a fan of Internet Explorer ask if there is a way he can easily remove or clean up his IE7’s browsing history. I told him that he can use a cleaning software like ccleaner to cleanup his computer, but he said that what he wants is to just clean only Internet Explorer 7 histories. To solve his problem what we did was we build a batch file to automate the cleanup.

To create a batch file, Copy and paste any or all of the codes below then save your file as filename.bat. These commands will work on both Windows XP and Windows Vista IE7.
Below are the codes that you can include on your batch file.
Temporary Internet Files
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8
Cookies
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2
History
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1
Form Data
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 16
Passwords
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 32
Delete All
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 255
Delete All – “Delete’s files and settings stored by add-ons”
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351

Instead of trying and figuring how to use IE. You and your frd may want to consider using Firefox. I am a Firefox guy once i start using firefox. In firefox, you get so many different plugs-in and adds on, which enable you to nearly do everything on a browser now. I strongly recommend you to try Mozilla Firefox.
Yes… I totally agree with you. I am also a Firefox fan and user. I don’t use IE that much but I also don’t hate it. Only my friend is the only IE fan between the two of us
Good you have this tips…im not used to the IE because I’am a Firefox so i’m quite hard to use the tools on IE..

I use both! Nothing to lose right. Sometimes I use IE, other times I use Firefox. By the way, the ccleaner is excellent in cleaning up those unwanted files, very useful indeed.
Thanks for sharing the codes, certainly helpful stuff.

Well, i guess, since most of the desktop programs and softwares are based on MS now. And MS is making them compatible to IE only, so there’s no way u stop using IE completely. You might use less, bud doesn’t mean you will not use it at all.
How about using the “InPrivate” feature of the new IE8 instead? You won’t need to clean up if it’s never put there in the first place.
